Glycemic Load Food Scanner is designed to provide educational food estimates while keeping account and subscription data simple.
Important Health Notice
The app provides educational estimates only. It is not medical advice, medical nutrition therapy, a glucose meter, a CGM, or a substitute for physician, dietitian, or clinician guidance.
Information We Process
- Meal photos you choose to analyze: Photos are processed to estimate visible foods, glycemic load, calories, and related educational details.
- Scan history on your device: Saved scan results, meal photos, consumed status, and trends may be stored locally in the app so you can review them later.
- Apple sign-in information: If you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name or email.
- Subscription information: Purchases and subscription status are handled through Apple App Store systems.
AI Photo Analysis
When you ask the app to analyze a meal photo, the photo and related request data may be sent to our backend and AI service providers to generate an estimate. AI models can make mistakes and estimates may be incomplete or inaccurate.
How We Use Information
- To provide meal analysis, glycemic load estimates, calorie estimates, recipe ideas, and educational content.
- To maintain scan limits, subscription access, and app functionality.
- To improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support requests.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including hosting, AI processing, Apple sign-in, and App Store purchase systems.
Data Retention
Scan history stored on your device remains there until you delete it or remove the app. Backend processing data may be retained only as needed to provide, secure, debug, or improve the service, subject to provider and operational limits.
Your Choices
- You can continue without Apple sign-in where available in the app.
- You can clear local scan history from the app.
- You can manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
- You can contact us for privacy or support questions.
Children
The app is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
